Hello,

I hope, I'm at the right forum for this.

Anyway, I was searching for some vBulletin 4.x.xx mod, which would count spent time online for all forum members and then build a ladder-board, just like your IWT.

However, I realized, this one is no longer supported, which means, if I can't fix it on my own, it won't work.

So I came here to ask anyone, whether it would be possible to make it run for vB 4.1.11, because I heard, there was some sort of leap from one older vB build to another and it stopped working properly ever since, so considering that someone would fix it for current version, it might very well survive another year or two without tougher problems.

Please, is here anyone, who would be willing to do that?

It would me much appreciated, saving me some money, I'd pay some guy to fix it for me.

Best Regards,
~tEh'Pâr4d0x

Provide as much detail as you can about the issues you are having with things. I will try and see about setting up a test board to take a detailed look at the mod on the newest vb version in the next week or so. I am still a bit sore and run down from the car accident I was in on the 25th so I am taking it a bit easy on work currently as I recuperate since I tore most the muscles on the right side of my back.

We always welcome donations on our free products via paypal (mods@idealwebtech.com), but since this is still an active product we maintain (just offer limited support on) we will get any issues we notice with it fixed if there are any, and get an update out for everybody to enjoy.

Wow, that's great to hear! And I'm sorry about your accident, I hope, nobody was hurt badly.

Anyway, I set-up a testing forum for my own purposes just today, as I plan on testing other mods before I put them on my main forum as they sometimes tend to mess things up. So I will give a shot the outdated IWT and provide some detailed bug report, as I go through it.

Take all the time you need, I just hope, the updating from some vB 4.0.5 or what was the last version, it was optimized for, to vB 4.1.11 won't be that tough, but yet it would be just great to have this mod back, I spent around 1 or 2 hours with Google yesterday and trying to find some alternative, but there's none! So, IWT addon made quite a name for itself, no matter that the addon is pretty small and simple, but I simply love it (we had something similar on SMF boards, but it counted only first 10 users, so pretty useless, so when we changed to vB, this one was a clear choice)!

About the donations, sure, I'd send some. After all, it's great, when someone is putting his free time to create some valuable stuff for other. Very appreciated, even though, not many people will express it.

So, I will get back to this topic, once I install the IWT and try to locate any possible bugs and error to make the updating a little bit easier for you.

Thank again, I really appreciate your positive attitude!

Best Regards,

vBulletin v4.1.11

::FIRST FEEDBACK::

1. Centering The Stats & Fixing The 'Real Time' Glitch

Posted Image

I'm not sure, whether this is a bug or not, but adding some simple [_CENTER_] tag would cut this one, it just looks weird the way it is.

Second and more important thing is, it is counting the time very oddly. This testing forum was a fresh install and this was the first mod on it, so it didn't interfere with any other addons. I went into the "Time Spent Online Leader Board" and started doing page reload in Google Chrome, e.g. right click -> reload and each reload, it added me 3 seconds, even though the reload took like only 1 sec., not sure, if this was meant to be or is a bug, hard to tell. It's just seconds, so yet again, nothing really drastic, but I'd really like to hear from you, whether this is ok or not. :)

3 seconds wouldn't be that drastic anyhow, but sometimes, it added like 10 - 12 seconds just upon 1 reload, which took like half a second, e.g. reload -> "26 Minutes" -> reload (0,5 sec.) -> "26 Minutes 12 Seconds"

So maybe, if you just gave a quick check to the script, which, calculates this. Heck, maybe it is all right and is supposed to be this way, because which user, would just keep refreshing like an insane person, so maybe the script was intended to give some 3 - 10 secs. upon each reload, considering that person is browsing the forum, reads this, than goes to a different page, then does this and that and each time he clicks something, he gets a couple of seconds, you tell me. :)

2. The Postbit Layout

Posted Image

Here are some of my ideas, how the postbit area might get a significant improvement. I'm not sure, but I've seen your mod at a different forum, where users reached actually days and weeks online and in their postbit area, it was just all messed up and barely readable, what I mean is that it had no layout, it was tossed on the lines as it came, just check out my suggestion and let me know, if that's completely insane or might actually be a bit of improvement / fix and help users to get oriented in this better and make it easily readable.

3. Values To Dynamic Bars

Posted Image

And this is a screenshot coming from our old SMF forum, which had sort of a hybrid function like this IWT, too bad, it only displayed first 10 or 15 users, never mind. The point is, it would be freakin' awesome, if these bars were included into the interface.

Quote

"Community" -> "Time Spent Online Leader Board"

"User Name" ----- "Time Online" ----- "Online Bar" ----- "Average Time Online (Per Day)"

It would be fairly easy, the code has been already written for this and is included in SMF open source package, not telling you to copy & paste it, obviously there's some Copyright and stuff like that, but even though, there would have to be some modifications and changes done to this code before the actual usage, so the final resource would look differently anyway.

SMF bar.gif script / code / not sure, if this can be of any help or if you use it at all /

foreach ($context['top_time_online'] as $poster)
echo '
<tr>
<td width="60%" valign="top">', $poster['link'], '</td>
<td width="20%" align="left" valign="top">', $poster['time_online'] > 0 ? '<img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/bar.gif" width="' . $poster['time_percent'] . '" height="15" alt="" />' : ' ', '</td>
<td width="20%" align="right" valign="top" nowrap="nowrap">', $poster['time_online'], '</td>
</tr>';

___________________________________________________________________

And well, that's all from my side now.

Right now, at this moment, I would be most concerned with how it counts the time - no. 1 I mentioned here and no. 2 as for the layout, not get messed up in the postbits, once the users reach months and possibly years, I hope my suggestion looks obvious on that crappy screenshot. :)

And well, that's really it.

I will appreciate any updates you will make to this!

Best Regards,

I agree on the centering for the tsoleaderboard and will see about putting that into the next version. The postbit changes you suggest appears to basically be just turning on the short phrase setting that we already built into the product. I will think on the bars as I could see that being decent, but I need to make sure of the performance from generating all the math behind it especially if I am going to consider adding it in for the average time per day as well.

Sorry for the late reply. This one got lost in the shuffle with everything that was going on after that car accident and trying to get all work stuff back on track.
